Frequently Asked Questions

DoneAgo is a last-time tracker that lets you track not just when something was last done, but what state it's in right now, and how long it's been in that state.

You create items (like "Cat" or "Fridge"), add trackers to each item (like "Feeding" or "Vegetables"), and define the states for each tracker (like "Fed / Not Fed" or "Full / Running Low / Empty"). Tap a state button and it immediately starts counting from that moment, showing you exactly how long it's been in that state, like "2 minutes ago", "4 hours ago", or "3 days ago".

You can also edit when a state happened. So if you're setting up a new card and you already know your cat was fed 2 hours ago, or your plant was watered 4 days ago, you can set the time back to match reality. Your tracker starts accurate from day one, not just from when you installed the app.

Think of it in three layers:

  • Item, the thing you're tracking (e.g. your cat, a plant, your car)
  • Tracker, an aspect of that item you want to monitor (e.g. Feeding, Litter Box, Watering)
  • States, the possible conditions for that tracker (e.g. Fed / Not Fed, or Clean / Dirty)

Tap a state pill and the clock starts. Come back later and you'll know exactly what state it's in and how long it's been that way.

DoneAgo has two tracker types:

  • Cycle trackers, have multiple named states that you cycle through (e.g. Fed, Not Fed, Fed). Great for things with ongoing status.
  • Reset trackers, have a single action state. Tapping it logs the event and resets the timer. Great for one-shot actions like "Took medication" or "Watered plant."

You can set a time threshold per state. If a tracker stays in that state longer than the threshold you've set, DoneAgo sends you a notification.

For example: if "Litter Box" is in the "Dirty" state for more than 12 hours, get a reminder. Notifications are state-aware, they won't fire for states where it doesn't matter.

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.

You can pin any item to your home screen as a widget. The widget shows your trackers and their current states, and you can tap a state pill directly from the widget to change it, just like inside the app.

On Android, long-press your home screen and look for Widgets → DoneAgo. On iOS, long-press your home screen, tap the + button, and search for DoneAgo.

Every state change is automatically logged. Tap any Card to open its detail view, there you will see the Logs tab, click that one to see the full logs of every state and how long each one lasted. You can add notes and undo changes.

On insights tab, You can see activity patterns and gap analysis to spot trends over time.

DoneAgo has a free tier that covers the core tracking experience, and a Premium tier that unlocks the full feature set. Here is what each plan includes:

  • Cards (Items), free accounts can have up to 6 cards. Premium unlocks unlimited cards so you can track as many areas of your life as you need.
  • Trackers per card, free accounts support up to 3 trackers per card. Premium gives you unlimited trackers per card, useful for items with many aspects to monitor.
  • Auto-switch states, a Premium feature that lets you configure any state to automatically advance to the next state after a duration you set, in minutes, hours, or days. You set it on the state itself. For example, tap to "Watered" state button on your plant card and it automatically switches to "Needs Water" after 3 days, then you can have "Needs Water" auto-switch to "Overdue" after another 2 days. Useful for plants, pet feeding schedules, medication cycles, appliance filters, car maintenance, or anything that naturally moves through stages over time. All timing is calculated from when you last changed the state, so the countdown is always grounded in reality, not a fixed clock.
  • Home screen widgets, on iOS, Premium unlocks advanced widgets where you can tap state pills directly from your home screen to change state without opening the app. On Android, the free tier includes 1 widget with tappable state buttons. Premium on Android unlocks unlimited widgets so you can pin as many items to your home screen as you want.
  • iCloud Sync, on iOS, iCloud Sync is free. Your data is automatically synced across all your Apple devices at no cost.
  • Google Drive Backup, on Android, cloud backup to your Google Drive is a Premium feature. It lets you back up and restore your full app data at any time.
  • Accent colors, Premium unlocks additional app accent colors on both platforms, letting you personalize the color of App UI buttons to match your style.

Premium is available in different plans depending on your platform. On iOS, you can choose from a monthly subscription, yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. On Android, Premium is available as a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed securely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android).

To restore a previous Premium purchase, open the upgrade screen inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase will be restored to the same Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) you used when you originally bought it. Premium status is tied to the account it was purchased on and cannot be transferred to a different account.

Note that Premium purchases are platform-specific. An Android Premium purchase does not carry over to iOS, and vice versa. Each platform requires its own separate purchase.

If restore isn't working, contact us at [email protected] with your purchase receipt and we'll help sort it out.

On iOS, DoneAgo automatically syncs your data to iCloud (a free feature) so it's available across all your Apple devices. When you set up a new iPhone and sign in to your Apple ID, your data will restore automatically.

On Android, DoneAgo offers optional Google Drive backup as a Premium feature. You can also create a local encrypted backup file from Menu → Backup & Restore.

Go to Menu → Delete All Data inside the app. On iOS, this clears data from both your device and your iCloud account in one action. On Android, it clears your local data, but if you have a Google Drive backup, you will need to delete that file manually from your Google Drive as well.

No account is required. DoneAgo works fully offline, all your data is stored on your device. An internet connection is only needed for cloud sync/backup and in-app purchases.

No. Your tracking data never leaves your device (or your own cloud account). We only use Firebase Crashlytics to receive anonymous crash reports so we can fix bugs. We do not collect behavioral analytics, usage data, or any personally identifiable information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
